Quarterly Non-Fiction Assignment
*Once a marking period, each student is responsible for independently finding a work of non-fiction that relates to class reading. The non-fiction piece may be from a newspaper, magazine, or online source. Be sure to the selection relates to class reading, is appropriate for class, and is from a credible source.
*The summary should be at least a paragraph in length and discuss the key points of the article and specify the connections to the class reading.
*Students may sign up for days to present in advance and when presenting the piece the student should bring in the article and complete the following form:

Vocab Format
*Each week, select ten (10) unfamiliar words from the current reading. For each word, look up the part of speech and definition appropriate to the context and then determine a synonym and antonym for the word. Include the context quote the word is from with proper MLA citation and finally, write an original sentence that uses the word correctly and clearly shows the meaning.
